• Brews & News With The Coloradoan

A few of our members went to The Coloradoan’s monthly Brews & News on Thursday, January 19th — if you’re not familiar, The Coloradoan has said that its Brews & News event is a “monthly conversation series” where locals pair “beer and discussion with building stronger connections in our community.” January’s event was held at Intersect Brewing and drew in more than 30 people to talk with fellow locals about what issues we feel are important to discuss with our state representatives.

According to The Coloradan’s recap, the hot button items were (you guessed it) healthcare and affordable housing. Our members also heard a lot of talk about transportation and suburban sprawl concerns, and of course there was plenty of talk about our new administration and what federal changes could potentially affect us on a local level.

The Coloradoan is planning on holding these events on the third Thursday of every month, and they seem to be drawing in a diverse crows, so we hope to see them continue in the future. Stay tuned to our Events Page for future events or follow The Coloradoan on Facebook to stay updated.

Next month’s topic: How Fort Collins’ pending wave of retirees will change our city, and how residents can steer that conversation.
